Catalonia is a land of forests and Prats de Lluçanès, where Noir et Blanc® is born, is a land of truffle tradition. This forest fruit is a treasure given by the land that has exceptional gastronomic qualities. It brings intensity, flavor and aroma to dishes, but it is also a great ally in cosmetics. The properties of the truffle are unique and highly valued.

There are over 70 species of truffles worldwide, and two of the three most precious species can be found in Catalonia. These are, black or winter truffle (tuber melanosporum) and white or summer truffle (tuber aestivum). It is a privilege that the truffle territories, such as El Lluçanès, have long valued.

Lluçanès is a territory rich in nature and gastronomic culture. And Noir et Blanc® has inherited this tradition, since it is intrinsically connected with the tradition, the cuisine and the forests of Lluçanès.

Winter and summer

The black or winter truffle (tuber melanosporum) is a variant of the truffle that can only be harvested in Catalonia between November 15 and March 15.

The white or summer truffle (tuber aestivum) is a truffle variant that can only be harvested in Catalonia between May 1 and August 15.
